Our Cat Benny…

My husband and I have a cat named Benny.

Just like most people we had him on dry cat kibble most of his life. Benny would eat non stop all day long, and he was very overweight. We did some research and discovered he was so overweight and that he could no longer groom that area of his back.

My husband did lots of research on raw diets and the benefits for both dogs and cats.  He finally decided to transition him to a raw diet. He found a simple, cheap good recipe online and we began transitioning them. We made a few mistakes because we didn’t realize we needed to do a slow transition. We thought we saw him eating the raw food and just assumed he was eating enough.  Benny started losing weight right away, within that first week he was able to completely remove the mats on his back. We continued the raw diet thinking it was working. Fast forward about a month, we noticed Benny was acting lethargic, and was just not himself. He wasn’t vomiting or anything. He was just very lethargic and we did notice he wasn’t eating.

We took him to our local conventional vet. They told us he was very jaundiced. We did allow the blood tests and $600 later we found he was in liver failure and recommend we put him down.

After speaking to Mac we learned it was because he was essentially starving himself.  The vet said we could take him home (she gave us some toxic nausea meds that humans couldn’t even get on their hands, some high-fat wet cat food) and she said “If you get him to eat he might make it”. and that was it. Basically she was telling us he was gonna not make it and good luck. We were devastated.

Luckily, I found Mac Rider and I reached out to her, she took our case, and saved Benny’s life. She told us to stop giving the high fat food because it wasn’t good for his liver and to start giving herbs for liver health and she recommended some homeopathic medications.

Today, Benny’s jaundiced is completely gone, he’s back to his normal self, he’s eating on his own again. We are so grateful for Mac Rider. If it weren’t for her we probably would have lost Benny.

Oliver was very sick…

My cat Oliver was very sick, after antibiotics and steroids for his IBS that didn’t help him his vet recommended that we put him down. He had really bad diarrhea. His vet had put him on Royal Canine Gastro High Fiber Diet. This was the second prescription diet he had been on.

My cousin suggested a couple of Facebook groups for me to ask questions on. Luckily for me and Oliver Mac saw my post. I found out she was certified in pet nutrition, and a holistic pet practitioner and I desperately needed help to save my boy.

Jack had developed HGE…

Our beagle, Jack, had developed an issue called HGE- (hemorrhagic gastroenteritis) basically hemorrhaging out his bum, which was quite scary!

As a result he was put on special food, canned and kibble, by his vet. If you know anything about beagles, they don’t typically get too picky with their food and they’ll scarf anything down that is put in front of them. That was how Jack was until this food came along and it was like pulling teeth to get him to eat. Not only that, but he was getting anxiety pretty often and it was only getting worse.

Now that more and more items are getting harder to come by, Jacks specialty food- the only brand I could get him to eat, was backordered (and still is 2 months later!) I found Mac on a holistic pet Facebook page as I was trying to figure out what to make for my dog that would suit his needs to keep his HGE from recurring. She has been so helpful to me in answering questions as I tried to maneuver switching from specialty canned food and kibble to making his food myself. I’m glad I found her as I was making some pretty serious mistakes, even though I thought I did my research.

While I couldn’t do what she strongly suggested (raw), she worked with me in providing guidance and a recipe for a species appropriate diet cooked diet, offered suggestions for supplements she felt would benefit Jack and gave insight in other areas we had discussed.

Jack now LOVES his new specialty diet, and Mac also went as far as to provide information on why each ingredient was chosen and where it could be purchased. She has no qualms about answering my many questions as I progress through the first month of his new diet. She is knowledgeable, super helpful and very affordable. I highly recommend her services!

She is absolutely wonderful to work with…

After doing a lot of research, I learned the TRUTH about kibble and how bad this highly processed “food” is for our pets. Once I learned, I couldn’t get my cats off of kibble fast enough.

So I switched them to a commercial raw, which was great in the interim, but I knew that I wanted to make it myself so that I would know exactly what was going into it and to help cut down on cost of buying it pre-made.

It was divine timing that I ran into Mac Rider in a holistic Facebook group, where she was advocating and volunteering her time helping others, so that their pets could get the help that they needed. I sent her a private message asking her if she does consultations and luckily the answer was yes.

I wasn’t sure what to expect at first because I never worked with a holistic pet practitioner before – I’d only been to conventional veterinarians.

She spent a lot of time with me on the phone, asking me some questions about my cats, and personalized both a treatment plan and meal plan for the both of them, based off of their personal needs and my future concerns for them. (Aging/lipomas/FKD, etc)

I also was able to find a wonderful holistic veterinarian in my area for those times where my cats may need to be seen in person. My holistic veterinarian fully approved of the raw diet she created, said it was one of the most in depth meal plans she had ever seen! I recently had them both do a checkup just to see how they were doing and get some blood work done.

It was so nice to be able to send the blood work to Mac, afterwards, to get her opinion on it because she went through the results with a fine tooth comb, quite comprehensively, and was able to explain some things to me that were confusing, as well as guide me on what to do.

She is absolutely wonderful to work with, is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, personable, honest, and truly cares about her furry patients and their pet parents!

I’d much rather pay her and do things proactively/preventively than to be chasing illness and having to run to the veterinarian all the time. Everyone knows that it’s gut-wrenching to watch your pet be sick.

I feel beyond fortunate to have found her and have her as my pets’ Holistic Pet Practitioner and cannot recommend her high enough!!

I don’t think Berry would have survived, quite honestly, without Mac’s help….

My cat Berry was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease three years ago and with Hyperthyroidism two years ago.

I had her on CKD diets for a while and she loved them until she didn’t. It was a daily struggle trying all sorts of new low-phosphorus foods. I would think I found a winner but then she’d turn her nose up at it. It didn’t take long for her to almost completely lose her appetite.

I contacted Mac and implemented the raw diet with supplements. She is now ravenous, has put on weight, and her bloodwork numbers have shown great improvement. I got her bloodwork done shortly before putting her on a raw diet in March and the vet had said he suspected that in the next few months we’d have to put her on weekly fluids to increase her hydration.

It’s now November and her bloodwork looks great. We’re chugging along quite nicely! I don’t think Berry would have survived, quite honestly, without Mac’s help.

It seemed in the beginning that transitioning her to raw was going to be quite the project, but it’s so much less effort now that she actually wants to eat her food!!!

Thank you so much Mac!!

I hired Mac – Loki’s life did a 180 degree turn…

Loki was a very sick 6 month old French Bulldog when I got him, he was born in a typical puppy mill.

He had gastrointestinal issues daily with diarrhea, congestion, “tummy tornadoes” and food allergies. We were in the Vet office weekly it seemed. Loki kept getting sick with a parasites like hookworm and infections like coccidia, ear infections and also skin allergies including yeast. He had been put on multiple antibiotics. His gut and immune system were very weak.

It wasn’t until I hired Mac that Loki’s life did a 180 degree turn. Mac identified problems immediately through the interview process. When she met Loki, he was very receptive to her. She skillfully instructed me on how to wean my dog of his prescription royal canin dry food which his veterinarian had prescribed and on to a raw diet, boost his immunity, treat his current infections and infestations and also prevent future infections and infestations with holistic and natural approaches. She also provided me with a plethora of education on diet, supplements and behavior.

Loki was under weight when I got him and after Macs help, Loki is now at a healthy 33 lbs!!! His Vet said to me, “I don’t know what you’re doing but keep it up. He is perfect!” He no longer has diarrhea, tummy tornadoes, parasitic infections, bacterial infections and his allergies and yeast are under control. I honestly don’t know what I would have done had I not hired Mac. Loki is 2 years old and is still eating a raw diet! Thank you Mac!!!
